It is very sad movie that highlights the harsh reality of life and Bjork has played the role of Selma very beautifully.

It was released in 1994 and was a blockbuster. It also received notable appreciation from critics that includes winning 1 Oscar.

One of my personal favorites that still make me cry. Hachi: A Dog’s Tale is a story of love and affection. It is a story that is beyond human connection.

It is one of those sad movies that makes you think to rewrite the definition of love. It is a story of college professor and his unbreakable bond with a dog.

It is a successful remake of Japanese film that shows the love and friendship between his dog and him.

6. The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas (2008)

The Boy in the Stripped pajamas was released as an underdog but became instant hit because of its pureness and  quality content.

It is a story of eight year old German boy Bruno that became friend with a Jewish boy after world war 2, only to lead unfavorable events.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas are one of those sad movies that always inspire that friendship and love has no boundaries and no ethnicity.

5. Forest Gump (1994)

One of the best sad movies. It is also one of the most beautiful film i have ever watched. Forest Gump was directed by Robert Zemeckis.

It was one of those movies that consisted beautiful elements of acting, plot and cinematography. It was highly praised by critics and managed to won 6 Oscars.

The oldest film in our list and no doubt one of the most sad movies ever. Old Yeller is one of the best live action picture from Disney.

We all know that how we are affected and in love with dogs and this movie tells the same about it. Old Yeller was released in 1957 and was a hit.

If you are looking for an emotional movie that can give you life message, than Old Yeller wont disappoint you.

3. The Green Mile (1999)

Heading towards the top 3 of our list of ten sad movies to watch on Valentine’s Day, we have The Green Mile on the 3rd spot.

The Green Mile is a story of John Coffey that was brilliantly played by Michael Clarke Dunkun, is a man convicted of murder. He was portrayed as a person who can easily intimidate anyone but he is also a man for which only few will fail not to cry.

It is one of those sad movies that will make your heart wept for sure.

2. Schindler’s List (1993)

One of the most sad movies ever made on bravery. Schindler’s List is on the second spot of our sad movies list.

This is not only a sad film but it also depress me the most.  Schindler’s List has perfectly given the haunting humanistic touch in this movie. It is the best film i have ever seen from Steven Spielberg.

It is one of those sad movies that give us hope and will power to achieve anything. A must watch for everyone.

1. Titanic (1997)


“You are going to be out of here. You are going to live.. and you are going to make lots of babies”

Well, lets face it. We all were sad when this happened. Titanic is on the top of list of 10 best sad movies. It has already been on the top of the best romantic movies as well.

Titanic is one of those sad movies that still make me cry. Perfect acting, Outstanding plot and out of the world music. Titanic had everything to be on the top.

It is one of those sad movies where we joyfully watched it, despite being aware about the ending.

There are numerous scenes in this movie that made our heart wept but the clips and destruction of other passengers always make us cry. This should be your top priority for Valentine’s Day.
